Videos

Opportunity: As people leaders become increasingly aware of the importance of employee engagement, many are looking for strategies to strengthen engagement within their workforce.

Solution: I created a video introducing a framework professionals can use to strengthen engagement. The target audience is people professionals who already prioritize employee engagement. Tools used: Audacity (audio recording), Camtasia (video creation and editing), Canva (stock videos and images), and icon8 (music).

Games

Opportunity: Our company was slated to have our first all-employee, in-person, post-Covid event. The overarching event goal was to foster a positive cultural pivot. Within this, goals included building cross-functional relationships, introducing new company values, and fostering buy-in to our new company strategy.

Solution: I led a small learning team responsible for designing and facilitating the heart of the event. Within a very short time, we created and piloted two games with action cards, blocks, and cross-functional team work. The sample shows one group’s puzzle and a game board, which the Marketing Team created based on our team’s design.

Innovation Sessions

Opportunity: I joined a company to build their first learning function. Initial priorities were to gain insight on how the learning function could advance the company’s performance and employee experience, and to begin fostering manager awareness and buy-in to cultivating a learning culture.

Solution: I interviewed executive leaders and management teams to identify learning needs. I then facilitated a session with each management team to share the results, strategic learning plan, and roadmap. In each session, managers learned about foundations of the new learning function and strategies they can use to support their team’s development. We capped the session with an innovation workshop, where each team brainstormed and prioritized strategies, then created an action plan to foster a learning culture within their team.

INNOVATION

Online Learning Portal

Opportunity: Employees were excited to develop their careers at our company, yet career self-awareness varied significantly. Some employees wanted help exploring potential career goals and aspirations. Others wanted help in identifying and implementing steps to achieve their goals.

Solution: I led a team of volunteer employees in designing and building a “choose your own adventure” online learning portal. Employees would be invited to identify their starting place, then choose the path and exercises most relevant and helpful to them. I was responsible for concept design, content development, and project management, and collaborated with our UI/UX Designer to conduct user testing. The project was paused prior to launch due to a major reorganization. The wireframe, which was created by our UI/UX Designer, shows sample pages from the learning portal.
